Traditions

Every year, we make traditions a part of our holiday. One of our favorites is Christmas eve. On Christmas Eve we like to have beans and rice dinner, followed by Christmas Eve service at church, Apple dumplings at home and then unwrapping pajamas before snuggling into bed.

This year we invited a number of friends over. First, Ina Kang arrived from CSU Hayward for a planned 10 day visit with her American family. Then our new Chinese friends Shuai Feng (Frank), Yihao, Chun, Shy yang, and Vito (Tony-ye Liu couldn't make it) joined us for dinner, church service, and dessert. For each of these men, it was their first time ever to go to church. The service was beautiful, the music eloquent, and the worship a blessing. Matthew Evans joined us for dumplings after the service. In all, we had a wonderful time preparing our hearts and souls for Christmas.
